Full Job Description

To develop and support the maintenance of effective programme and project controls processes within a national programme of complex, technical improvement projects; to provide analytical support and coordinate programme communication with multiple stakeholders., 1. Establish effective control processes within the programme in accordance with the appropriate governance structure. 2. Maintain a reporting register of all key projects and monitor and report against programme plans and performance objectives, highlighting variance from plan, risks and corrective actions. 3. Review new project proposals / definitions and their deliverability whilst identifying and facilitating cross-functional initiatives/projects that will secure efficiencies and reduce duplication of effort. 4. Provide accurate, innovative and timely periodic reporting to project sponsors, senior management and key stakeholders. 5. Perform analysis of specific performance issues identified as part of the programme’s reporting framework, or as directed by senior management. 6. Establish and maintain an effective reporting and communication framework for the portfolios/programmes. 7. Manage the development and production of the Integrated Plan as part of the business planning process. 8. Manage and develop the change control process to challenge to deviation from plan and potential impact to business. 9. Manage and comply with Company procedures to provide appropriate resources, communication strategies, training and competency to safely deliver accountabilities.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent • Project management qualification or evidence of managing complex programmes with significant financial benefit • Successful relevant experience and competence of investment, project control systems and change management • Knowledge of investment processes and procedures • Good financial and commercial awareness • Experience of a wide range of Communication techniques and Stakeholder Management • Proficient with the use of Power BI and other reporting tools We would also like but it isn’t crucial to have/to be: • Good understanding of operational railway environment
