Eastern Routes Capital Programmes are looking for a delivery driven Civil Engineering lead to join the Renewals team as part of the wider Eastern Routes Capital Programmes team. Delivering to time cost and quality across the 4 routes of the Eastern Region we build bridges, earthworks and remediate tunnels as part of our core remitted works as well as civil elements of buildings, signalling and electrification portfolios. Working and building close relationships with both our route colleagues managing the supply chain of key delivery partners. Safety is our top priority and we also have a key driver for team development and are proud of our track record of developing talent across the board, much of which now sits in senior roles within the business. We deliver across all phases of the project life cycle and these projects range from relatively small scale interventions of around £0.5m up to some of larger scale bridges and geotechnical projects of £30m final costs. Our interventions also range from non disruptive and off track access to significant disruptive access for rail services incorporating all the planning that goes with delivering at critical times of the calendar., 1. Being a key member of the Renewals leadership team. Develop and manage the team structure and processes to deliver and review engineering outputs to support the programme schedule, budget and quality requirements. 2. In line with programme requirements, identify and manage the introduction of new systems on the network, where applicable, including systems/safety approvals and monitoring so that processes and documentation exist for sustained network usage. 3. Develop safety, quality and environmental approvals processes within the programme including staff development and competence. 4. Identify and manage the programme engineering budget along with providing support information determining the overall programme budget. 5. Manage all engineering and project development activities resulting in schemes that are affordable and meet Programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality. 6. Provide professional functional leadership for engineering within the programme, as part of the wider Eastern Region Capital Programmes Central Engineering community. 7. Manage the appropriate validation and verification of engineering activity.

· Chartered Engineer with relevant successful experience of civils discipline project delivery within the Railway Industry or other complex industries/projects. · University degree in relevant engineering discipline. · Membership of an appropriate Professional Institution (ICE, IMechE, IET). · Relevant experience of railway engineering systems and equipment, and implementation. · Construction design management competence. · Demonstrable experience of actively building internal and external network to support delivery. · Demonstrable ability to clearly explain change initiatives and provide constructive challenge driving continuous improvement. · Demonstrable capability of translating business's goals into clear priorities and responsibilities, driving minimal viable product solutions for efficient delivery. · Successful experience of promoting physical and mental well-being and safety of colleagues and of proactively identifying and acting on key business and/ or safety risks. · Proven experience of managing interrelated and complex issues across business processes and teams.
