Full Job Description

As Programme Management Office Manager, you will:

  • Provide leadership and programme management expertise to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of NICE's Business Plan

  • Lead Business Plan programme governance processes

  • Work with the Head of Delivery to develop the capacity and capability of the Programme Management Office

  • Support project leads to develop project plans, maintain and update project information, and track actions, milestones, key performance indicators, risks and issues and quantitative/qualitative benefits

  • Manage systems that support the efficient collation and reporting of performance indicators (e.g. Power BI)

  • Produce, consolidate, and issue reports as necessary with input from Directorate leads, in line with programme governance requirements

  • Maintain the register of programme risks and issues, escalating risks and issues, and review with the Head of Delivery

  • Establish and manage appropriate escalation processes

  • Review and challenge all elements of plans to ensure they are clearly articulated, metrics are robust, financial plans and forecasts are realistic and achievable and that risk assessments are completed appropriately

  • Ensure strong and continually developing stakeholder involvement in all major programme work

  • Through continuing professional development maintain an up-to-date knowledge of programme and project management methodologies, standards, procedures, and national guidance

    The Strategy, Policy and International Directorate supports NICE's Executive Team to define NICE's strategy, build and execute plans to implement it, and adapt it to changing circumstances. The Delivery Unit sits in this Directorate and leads NICE's work on planning, performance management, project management and change management. It designs and oversees the reporting and governance structures that guide the delivery of NICE's business plan, actively appraises performance to support the Chief Executive's management of the programme, and drives delivery and problem solving of NICE's top priority projects.

    You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the NICE Business Plan by leading NICE's Programme Management Office. You will ensure NICE Directorates' plans are rigorously designed and managed, including that they have clear KPIs, milestones and deliverables, and that they manage risks, issues and dependencies effectively. You will also make sure that NICE has effective reporting and governance processes in place to drive performance, and that these processes run efficiently and seamlessly, including by collating the reports, reviewing governance processes, and stepping back to assess overarching performance and risks indicators.
