We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Programme Manager to join our team. Based from our Whiteley office (UK) the individual will provide direct support to the NATS Portfolio lead to successfully deliver Developmental and Service delivery programmes to our customer NATS. This position is a full time, permanent role, and applicants must have (or be able to acquire) a security clearance. THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY The Programme Manager will be accountable for delivering a programme consisting of the service delivery and development upgrade of IT Infrastructure and business applications services for NATS. The Programme Manager will lead multiple project managers and service delivery managers to deliver the projects and Service to our customer, reporting to the NATS portfolio lead. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible and accountable for managing a programme of projects and Service.
  • Develop robust plans in order to meet programme and customer commitments
  • Track performance against plan, identify and execute plans to mitigate blockers
  • Identify and manage Risks, Issues and Opportunities
  • Effectively communicate status to portfolio leadership
  • Ability to operate a highly collaborative environment, both independently and integrated into large teams
  • Ensure robust Change management to the Programme of Projects
  • Manage key stakeholders to align expectations including senior executives in both Leidos and the customer.
  • Ensuring that all required programme status and oversight is captured
  • Some travel might be required to various customer and Leidos sites
  • The role is ideally primarily site based (near to the customer) but there will be flexibility to work flexibly and virtually.

    Hands on and proven track record managing complex projects/programmes including Software development in a highly disciplined environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and judgement for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders to develop strong working relations to support achieving objectives
  • Ability to engage effectively within a multi-functional programme team comprising both customer, supplier and Leidos staff
  • Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of business, finance and personnel management techniques
  • The ability to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively at all levels
  • Ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Desirable Experience:
  • Air Traffic Management knowledge would be advantageous
  • Experience of SOA/ITIL/Service Management methodologies
  • Software Lifecycle (Including Agile development & Test)
  • Understanding of Assurance requirements applied to system Development
