Join our Living Places team based in Aylesbury on a 12 Month FTC as a Programme & Permit Manager and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you. To manage a team of Programme and Permit Coordinators and officers. Reporting to the Contract Manager, support the delivery of the Network Management Duty in line with the Buckinghamshire Highways requirements. What you'll be doing As a Programme & Permit Manager you will have the following accountabilities:

  • To have an excellent working knowledge of the New Roads & Street Works Act and Traffic Management Act. To provide guidance and support across the Contract on road space requirements
  • To have an excellent understanding, and experience of Network Management principals. Manage the day-to-day activities of the team, ensuring relevant workloads are covered, and actioned. To be the point of escalation for coordination issues and challenges, supporting the team as required. To drive joint discussions, bringing parties together to ensure collaborative working is maximised
  • Manage the workload of the team, to ensure permits, programmes and other applications are responded to within the required timescales
  • Liaise with customers, local authorities, and utilities to ensure positive relations are maintained and their observations and comments are considered to the benefit of the contract. Build on existing and create new relationships with new statutory undertakers enforcing the companies attitudes and values.
  • Ensure processes for permit & licence applications, invoices, and Street Works charges are followed and updated to ensure income and cost recovery is maximised
  • Provide regular reports to the Traffic & Network Manager as required.

    You will have the following:
  • Educated to GCSE standard
  • Excellent IT and report writing skills, with the ability to communicate at the highest levels
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of legislation and codes of practice as they relate to role
  • Experience of working in a Network Management environment
  • A working knowledge of Permit Schemes for road & street works., Disability Confident
