We have an exciting opportunity for a Programmer to support the clinical research undertaken by Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care group by providing technical solutions and support for the research team.
As a programmer you will be responsible for creating and developing data collection systems and specifications, as well as carrying out data cleaning and bug fixes. You will create data queries to assist members of staff in generating datasets and reports and provide ongoing maintenance of the data collection systems. You will also be writing, reviewing, and running test scripts and other support documentation for trial data collection systems.

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience), preferably in numerate/problem solving subjects. You will have demonstratable experience in programming Web based applications (preferably using PHP) and the ability to identify solutions to problems/requirements in an efficient manner. You will have a demonstrable aptitude for learning and using a variety of software packages, with a balanced approach to solving problems with initiative and seeking advice when necessary and will be able to work speedily in a methodical way, paying attention to detail and ensuring accuracy. Experience of developing data-centric applications and of working in a Clinical Trial Unit, University, or NHS environment are desirable.
