Full Job Description

Southport College is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Progress Tutor to join our team on a full-time basis.

As a Progress Tutor, you will offer key support to students with their personal development. This will involve delivering weekly group sessions on key topics linked to personal development and safeguarding, as well as providing 1:1 support to a caseload of students.

Working closely with the Careers Co-ordinator, you will also provide information, advice and guidance to students on career development and progression, helping students to plan for post-College life, by supporting them with UCAS applications, apprenticeships and employment. You will also liaise closely with Student Engagement Officers to promote the welfare of students, employing a range of strategies to support student retention and achievement across the College through liaison with parents, carers and external agencies.

You will possess or will be willing to work towards an appropriate teacher training certificate, along with relevant experience in an educational setting. Excellent IT, communication, administrative and organisational skills will also be essential for success in this role.
