Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for someone currently working in a project support or administration role and looking to take the next step towards a career in project management. This role will provide project planning, coordination and delivery support for an ambitious programme of major collection moves at the British Museum's Bloomsbury estate and outstations, in accordance with the Museum's collection storage and care strategies. Key areas of responsibility:

  • Support the Programme Manager in the planning, coordination and delivery of the major collection move project programme.
  • Management of programme and project documentation (e.g. reports, schedules, risk and issue registers and project archives).
  • Manage coordination and communication activities with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide the first point of contact internally and externally for project partners and colleagues, ensuring effective coordination and sharing of information.
  • Line management of the Senior Administrator, ensuring a high level of administrative support is delivered.

    University graduate or equivalent
  • A demonstrable interest in the Museum/Cultural sector.
  • Proven project coordination, organisational and administrative experience.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and work with minimal supervision under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good team-worker
  • Flexible approach to changing priorities and requirements.
