Affinity Water have a fantastic opportunity to work within the Technology & Transformation team as a Project Delivery Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract. We are looking for a candidate who is a strategic thinker with a passion for change to manage a number of our transformation projects across the business as part of Journey to 25 and beyond. The role: The Project Delivery Manager role will consist of managing one or more hybrid Agile-Waterfall projects, to deliver a specific product or transformation and real tangible benefit. We use a range of tools and techniques utilising both Agile and Waterfall frameworks to keep the team focused on delivering value against the product vision. In this role you will support and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital and technology solutions, driven by an aim to simplify the life of our customers, enhance our employee experience, and continually improve. What you'll be doing: As a Project Delivery Manager you will be adept at delivering complex digital projects, breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed. You will also be accountable for the effective delivery of complex, multi-faceted projects across a range of product workstreams, and will also help to embed how we deliver change projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of product centric projects and initiatives including technical delivery and business change to ensure its successful completion on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to define project scope and deliverables, and ensure that they align with business goals.
  • Plan and design the project plan and proactively monitor its overall progress, the interdependencies and resolving issues/mitigating risks and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
  • Management of project budgets including cost reporting.
  • Resource allocation and planning, working with leads to schedule resources required to deliver the project.
  • Assist delivery teams to organise and plan their work effectively, ensuring timely delivery of products and services that meet the user's needs.
  • Ability to flex between Agile and Waterfall delivery as required, creating and maintaining applicable documentation, including project plans / roadmaps, scope, costs, benefits, as required for communication and audits.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with project teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that project goals are understood.
  • Provide proactive and clear communication on project progress, risks, and issues to various stakeholders, managing expectations and providing transparency.
  • Responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects efficiently, including management of budget, scope, and procurement as applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project team members, project sponsors, and business partners.
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of Affinity Water and bring people together to solve problems.
  • Support and up-skill the business in delivery of change.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.

    At least 5 years of experience in project management, related to both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experienced project manager in large change and transformation projects, and IT / product focused small changes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management approach with ability to influence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experienced in working effectively in multi-disciplinary product/service teams.
  • Experienced in motivating teams and individuals to deliver outstanding results.
  • Waterfall Project Management certification (Prince2, APM).
  • Proven experience within a regulated (and/or competitive) industry.
  • Scrum Master certification or experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with Agile project management tools, such as JIRA, is beneficial.

    Salary £65000 - 70000 (Depending on skills and experience)
  • Hybrid working - a minimum of 2 days per week (subject to job role)
