Full Job Description
Accountable for the delivery of all work on a large and technically complex project, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Set the overall standard on the project/contract, ensuring consistency and in line with standards, policies and procedures.
- Develop the wider operational and project management team to build management capability and deliver all aspects of the project/contract requirements.
- Line management of Project Managers who are responsible for the operational delivery of the project.
- Provide strategic updates to Senior Management
- Responsible for strategic client relationship management.
- Contributes to work winning at a strategic level.
- Will be expected to resolve all operational and some strategic issues.
- Comply with company standards, policies and procedures recommending improvements where necessary. Mirror the Murphy Values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect in all behaviours.
- Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
Professionally qualified construction representative
- member of a professional body.
- Demonstrable experience of leading building projects
- Project management methodology knowledge essential.
- Proven track record in project management delivering projects/contracts of a similar nature.
- Able to develop positive working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Driven with a passion for excellence
- Proven ability to lead teams and coach on performance

Murphy is recruiting for a Project Director to work within Water on our new United Utilities Enterprise Partnership.
We provide end-to-end services for major water and sewage companies such as Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities, and for several water-only companies including SES Water, Bristol Water and South East Water.
We also provide a full design, build, operate and maintain service for Uisce Éireann and we currently operate over 25 of their facilities, ensuring they run efficiently and comply fully with EPA regulations.
