SLR has an outstanding opportunity for an early career Consultant to join our busy Environmental Management, Permitting & Compliance (EMPC) team. The team provide regulatory compliance and environmental management services to support the waste, industry, power and energy sectors with their complex environmental legislative obligations. Applications are invited from candidates who can demonstrate some degree of consultancy, industry or regulatory experience. This is a rare chance to join an experienced team of specialists, supported by a multidisciplinary range of experts in the fields of air quality, noise, hydrogeology, process engineering and more., The EMPC team operates from offices across the UK. Our clients include household names in the Food and Drink sector, Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals sectors and Waste sectors. We assist our clients in complying with relevant legislation and minimising their impacts upon the environment. The services and sectors within which the team operate are key areas of growth for the business. We offer expert mentoring through the wider team, along with the opportunity to grow and develop your technical skills and knowledge, which will enable you to provide the project oversight services strongly valued by our clients and assist with developing new business opportunities. You will support the team in a diverse range of compliance and environmental management matters including preparation of environmental permit applications, undertaking of audits and development of environmental management systems, predominantly within the waste and industrial sectors.

  • Alongside senior colleagues, prepare detailed technical reports for submission to the relevant Environmental Regulator
  • Manage and develop relationships with clients
  • Interpret and analyse complex information
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Build professional knowledge by keeping up to date with trends and best practice in environmental permitting

    We are looking for someone with a relevant degree, along with a basic knowledge of environmental permitting legislation and guidance, and an understanding of environmental issues and management of impacts.
