Project Estimator - CMT Power

Job Summary: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our team. Reporting to the Head of
Technical & Project Delivery, the Project Estimator will be responsible for writing tender bids and providing both large and small
quotations. The ideal candidate will have a background in power generation, mechanical, or electrical engineering and will work
closely with the supply chain to provide indicative quotations. If a client proceeds to the next stage, the Project Estimator will
work through the details ahead of handing over to the projects team. This role will also involve client-facing interactions to
understand project requirements and provide updates., 1. Tender Preparation:

• Write and prepare tender bids for various projects.


• Ensure tender documents are completed accurately and submitted on time.

2. Quotation Development:

• Provide accurate and competitive quotations for both large and small projects.


• Analyze project requirements and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates.

3. Supply Chain Collaboration:

• Work closely with the supply chain to gather and validate cost information for materials, equipment, and services.


• Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

4. Client Interaction:

• Communicate with clients to understand their needs and project requirements.


• Provide updates to clients on project progress, addressing any questions or concerns regarding quotations and tenders.


• Participate in client meetings to discuss project scope, estimates, and deliverables.

5. Detail Finalization:

• If a client proceeds to the next stage, work through the detailed cost analysis and project planning.


• Collaborate with the projects team to ensure a smooth handover and accurate project execution.

6. Cost Analysis:

• Perform cost analysis for projects, identifying potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.


• Maintain accurate records of all estimates, quotations, and related documentation.


Skills Needed


• Background in power generation, mechanical, or electrical engineering.


• Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role.


• Strong understanding of tendering processes and cost estimation techniques.


• Strong academic foundation in mathematics is essential.


• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.


• Proficiency in estimation software and tools.


• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.


• Experience with client-facing interactions and managing client relationships.


• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.


• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.


• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
