Full Job Description
This exciting micro-internship offers an exclusive opportunity for a STRIVER to support the STRIVE Programme, a university initiative led by Dr. Iwi Ugiagbe-Green. You will play an integral role in planning and delivering important projects that aim to enhance student success for the 2025/26 academic year. Collaborating with colleagues across various departments, you'll gain hands-on experience in educational innovation and contribute to initiatives that seek to address differential outcomes gaps issues.,
- Support Programme Development: Assist in planning and implementing STRIVE projects, resources, and events that foster student engagement.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Attend meetings and provide updates on the programme progress to internal stakeholders.
- Workshop Promotion & Evaluation: Contribute to the promotion, delivery, and feedback of STRIVE workshops for students.

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. Please note it is desirable that students selected for this role have demonstrated engagement with STRIVE in 2024/25. We will select students who demonstrate a commitment to their personal and professional development. The role will involve working with the programme director and evaluation partner to co-design an evaluation activity (e.g. listening rooms, focus groups, chat and chill session) to collect and analyse data relating to STRIVE. The focus of the role is to aid the STRIVE team to better understand engagement challenges and how to enhance the programme for 2025/26. Essential: - Must be currently enrolled on the STRIVE programme
- Active engagement with the STRIVE programme: You must be engaged with the STRIVE programme (via self-study pack and mentoring and/or attended STRIVE events to date).
- Strong communication skills: both written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented & independent: Able to work collaboratively and take initiative in your work planning activities.
- Good IT skills (ability to use Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
- Good time-management skills
- Good presentation skills Desirable:
- A willingness to engage in public speaking at STRIVE events
- A demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by minoritised students (e.g.'Black, Asian and ethnically minoritised and/or first-generation face) in Higher Education
- Ability to produce a small project output (in your preferred format e.g. audio reflection, Sketch note, short report, canvas poster) relating to your project that can be shared with the STRIVE project team for wider dissemination.
- Previous experience in project evaluation If you are successful in securing employment for a project, you will be matched with a mentor to support you throughout the duration of your project.
