As aProject ManagementApprentice at AWE,you will be given the opportunity to supportan array ofmission criticalprojects,exploring your own set of skillsanddiscoveringwhere your passion lies, andwhere yourindividualskillsetisbest suited.Throughout your career at AWE,you willhave the chance to workin support of our core programme,onlarge infrastructure projects,and ona wide range of supporting programmes which enable AWE tooperateand grow. You will work with a widevarietyofpassionate and industry leadingsubject matterexperts,buildingstrong relationships with teams and stakeholders. ProjectManagersare required toeffectively lead and manage teams,communicate clearly and concisely,solve problemseffectively,prioritise multiple tasksand work to challenging timescalesin difficult environments. These are skills and competencies you will develop duringtheProject Management Apprenticeshipat AWE. Throughoutyourapprenticeship,you will gaina diverse skillsetand knowledgeof:

  • Project management methodologiesand techniques to applythese
  • Project lifecycle management
  • Projects Structures - WBS, CBS, OBS
  • Estimating,planningand scheduling
  • Governance and financial control of projects
  • Performance Measurement and Analysis
  • Business Rhythm - Month End Reporting and Analysis
  • Stakeholder and communications management, both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prioritisingworkload,resourcesand deadlines within high pressure complex environments
  • Change management:toappropriately manage scope,requirementsandbenefits

  • Procurement and contractmanagement

  • Entry Requirements
  • GCSE English and Maths atgrade4/Cor above.
  • 3 A Levels atgradeC or above; or T Level Pass (C or above on the core); or BTEC Extended Diploma at MMM.
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or over, as of 31st August 2025 due to security clearancerequirements.

Location Aldermaston (Reading / Basingstoke area) Start Date Wednesday the 27th of August 2025. Annual leave will not be granted from 27th August until 3rd October, due to mandatory inductions and the requirement for you to complete as part of your apprenticeship. Any leave approved after this point will depend on the training provider requirements for your apprenticeship and must be agreed in advance. These roles are governed by Health and Safety at Work Regulations and require all candidates to have an Occupational Health pre-employment medical held at AWE which follows theinitialselection process.All candidates must be willing and able to obtain andmaintainthe necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
