Full Job Description

Within IPDR we also operate the Digital Signalling portfolio to oversee the wider rollout of ETCS across Great Britain and make it easier for Regions and schemes to deploy ETCS. Through the portfolio we will co-ordinate and deliver fleet fitment activities, work to develop robust, repeatable approaches to technical delivery and business change, increase supply chain capability and capacity, and deliver initiatives to build the industry’s capability to efficiently plan, design, deliver, operate and maintain an ETCS railway.Brief Description You will support the Lead Portfolio Manager and the wider IPDR team in managing the Train Control Systems Framework (TCSF) and the delivery of the four Market Application Readiness contracts, making sure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality. You will monitor and report on project progress, manage queries and communications into and from the team, provide secretariat support, preparing meeting packs and taking minutes for key governance meetings. In addition, you will work with regional teams to maintain key signalling workbank data, collect and report framework-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and manage and maintain document repositories for the team.,

  • Work as part of a project team, assisting to deliver projects to time, cost, and quality through various phases in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Monitor and report programme progress in accordance with project reporting systems and guidelines.
  • Develop and integrate effective support systems to enable the Project Manager to manage and control change.
  • Process contractor possession and isolation applications so that applications are complete and submitted within the prescribed time scales as directed.
  • Monitor contractor performance indicators and provide periodic progress reports.
  • Support the Project Management team in providing a safe working environment at all times during the execution of projects under their responsibility.
  • Manage generic and site-specific methods of working and supply risk assessments to agreed timescales.
  • Monitor compliance with HSQE risk assessments carried out by the contractor.
  • Comply with the Investment Competence Framework.

    Some management experience, including project management.
  • Educated to HND/HNC or similar standard.
  • HSQE awareness, issues, and principles.
  • Desirable
  • Membership (or working towards membership of) the Association for Project Management.
  • A degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, environmental, commercial, and financial aspects.
  • Understanding of possession planning.

ECDP is the foundation for the network digital strategy and over two-thirds of its investment will enable and support the deployment of ETCS on other parts of the network.
