Full Job Description

The International Project Manager (IPM) will be required to work on project management and communications, in particular delivering several projects commissioned and funded by different countries in the Middle East and South Asia and donor agencies, such as in Kuwait and Myanmar. The post holder will deliver development work for the MRCGP[INT] accreditation process and/or philanthropic and income-generating international projects and other specified objectives.

The post holder will report into the Head of International Programmes and Administration and will be part of an inter-professional team of six, including two clinical International Medical Directors, which is led by the Overall Head of International and Assistant Director. The role is based in London, UK and with at least 2 days/week working from the office and up to 3 days/week working remotely.

  • Educated to degree level, or of equivalent graduate calibre to apply critical reasoning skills and independent analytical thinking is essential.

  • Understanding of and experience in managing and development projects and their successful delivery is essential.

  • Experience in working with external partners and suppliers is essential.

  • First class written and oral communications skills in English are essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of stakeholders internally and externally are essential.

  • A good understanding of the principles of customer focussed care in project management is essential.

  • Ability to work within a complex environment with international responsibilities, providing support as required across a portfolio of needs is essential.

  • A self-starter, able to work flexibly and on own initiative.

  • Excellent time management and planning skills.

  • Ability to manage competing demands and conflicting deadlines, work methodically, achieve targets and respond to changing needs.

  • Able to handle complex and delicate situations requiring tact and diplomacy.

  • Understanding cultural differences and having cultural sensitivity when working with partners from various countries and backgrounds.

  • A good working knowledge and understanding of the principles of equal opportunities, fairness and transparency, diversity and accountability.

  • An interest in global health.


  • You must be someone who thrives on variety and challenge and have highly developed interpersonal skills. You will be required to establish strong working relationships at all levels both within the College and externally.
