Full Job Description

Working with the Technical and Business Development teams, you will hold accountability for overseeing the progress and quality of a project or study whilst liaising with key members both within the Laboratory and across the wider business. Maintaining a collaborative approach to provides solutions and not 'blockers'.

You will demonstrate your skillset within a technical area as well as project management skills and have the confidence to provide information and background on specific programmes of work to both Colleagues and Clients. You will be accountable for being the PM for both existing and developing Clients and you will have good communications skills and the ability to converse with key contacts, providing them with accurate information and progress reports on a consistent basis.,

  • IT proficient
  • Strong numeracy skills with the knowledge of calculating and tabulating results
  • Clear written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly convey processes, results and key messages and able to build rapport, quickly and effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build strong relationships to collaborate with both Clients and members of the business to ensure that the business TQA promise is consistently met
  • Good experience of preparing documents with technical support or guidance across multiple projects
  • The ability to effectively time manage personal workloads and work on multiple projects as required
  • Understanding of the regulatory requirements or 'Good Working Practices' which apply to the
  • pharmaceutical Industry
  • Scientific background to 1st Degree level and knowledge within a defined area(s) with good project
  • management skills
  • Good working knowledge of the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry with good commercial
  • understanding and natural business acumen
  • Experience of working with the Chemical and Pharmaceutical sector, working with similar products
  • Knowledge and application of safety procedures, laboratory performance standards, handling chemicals,
  • COSHH, SHE and enforcement of safety and quality systems, Competent to produce/edit high quality standard reports that differentiate Manchester from other labs
  • Proven ability to interact and communicate effectively and proactively with customers from a range of industries, team members and the wider laboratory community programmes, projects and provide service updates
  • Sound knowledge of a range of analytical techniques
  • Appreciation of capabilities of other teams within the business and wider C&P environment
  • Able to define and deliver multi-technique projects, generate plans and reports to fulfil work programmes based on customer requirements; provide the necessary project management and work with the relevant technical area and wider delivery teams to ensure resource planning and cost-effective delivery to agreed timescales
  • Able to communicate with clients on the implications of the results generated and how to proceed on their basis with technical input
  • Ability to manage and report projects, drawing on findings from several techniques with technical support to solve customer problems
  • Able to understand client requirements and formulate plan of action involving a range of techniques with technical support
  • Demonstrate good project management skills, drawing on literature and experience as required, in line with business needs and opportunities
  • Ability to work autonomously towards the delivery of projects; sole signatory on reports
  • Understanding of commercial awareness and application to client projects to maximise the profitability of projects
  • Plan work to ensure that priorities and deadlines are achieved ensuring prompt responses to incoming communications (telephone, email etc)
