Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Project Manager to work within the Facilities Management Department (FMD) managing and assisting with refurbishments and other similar works at the Colindale site. You will be an energetic self-starter, contributing to the vigor of a busy, high performing FMD team. You are an experienced and well qualified PM but can demonstrate how you have used your skills to transform the workplace and the way people work. Your communication and stakeholder management skills are second to none and you will be able to show how you have led and influenced at a senior level to get changes made. You will always have one eye on the customer and set high standards of quality of delivery and behaviour. You are able to work on your own or as part of a team and organise your time efficiently. You should have some knowledge of FM and related construction projects. You must be confident and credible, able to influence and build consensus at the highest
levels of the organisation.
We are looking for someone with great communication skills and a team ethos that can bring people together to deliver change and contribute to the wider PPM community., • Managing and assisting upgrade and refurbishment projects on various UKHSA sites
• Defining the projects and agreeing the scope
• Planning the project activities and coordinating resources
• Managing contractors for projects, repairs and PPM
• Setting and agreeing budgets and managing reactive works
• Executing the change to an excellent standard and working with stakeholders to facilitate soft landings.
You will be adept at applying and adapting project methodologies, but not at the expense of delivery and will be able to demonstrate a strong record of getting the job done.
The postholder will create and lead the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints. It will involve the day to day management, effective leadership and management control of the project and project team. You will coordinate development of the Business Case, track delivery within budget and ensure benefits are identified, understood, measured. You will work with key stakeholders to develop and maintain effective relationships. Also, identify and monitor project risks and issues, whilst developing mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate. You will provide key project reports and support effective governance and decision making. You will ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders. You will develop the Project Plan and apply appropriate project principles to deliver stated objectives. Identify and set appropriate Project Controls. Track and report
delivery against milestones.

You will be invited to a (single) face to face interview.

Eligibility Criteria

Security Clearance Level Requirement
For meaningful National Security Vetting checks to be carried out individuals need to have lived in the UK for a sufficient period of time. You should normally have been resident in the United Kingdom for the last 3 years as the role requires Counter Terrorism Check (CTC). UK residency less than the outlined periods may not necessarily bar you from gaining national security vetting and applicants should contact the Vacancy Holder / Recruiting Manager listed in the advert for further advice.

• Educated to graduate degree level/NVQ4 or equivalent experience in facilities management
• Finance and budgeting skills to estimate costs, produce budget and control forecasts and gain financial approval for project and resource costs, working with finance colleagues to monitor spend against the contract
• Experience of capturing stakeholder needs, assessing, defining and justifying those needs to arrive at an agreed schedule of requirements using appropriate communication and engagement channels
• Experience of identifying and monitoring risks and issues, planning how to mitigate / respond to those risks and issues and implementing the responses
• Experience of clearly defining roles, responsibilities and accountabilities and establishing controls and approval routes appropriate to each stage of the project to monitor project progress and compliance, including project reviews
• Experienced at identifying, quantifying, mapping and tracking project benefits to justify investment in the project, and to provide assurance that the benefits identified can be realised
• Ability to plan, develop, maintain and apply quality management processes to ensure the adherence to those standards throughout the project delivery lifecycle
