Full Job Description

UCEM is launching a 12-month Student Support System Project to replace the current system by July 2025. This system is vital for student support and enquiry management.A Project Manager (PM) is needed to lead this project, scope its implementation, develop the plan, and manage delivery. The PM will oversee all aspects of the project, including technical implementation, process review, training, communication, and change management, with the support of a Project Coordinator.The project will require full-time input initially, reducing once the plan is in progress, allowing the contractor to support other projects. The resource plan will be agreed by the Director of Strategy & Planning and the Director of Technology.

  • Develop project specification, plan, budget, and resource plan.
  • Lead UCEM to ensure project delivery and objectives are met.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues.
  • Establish effective project governance and manage the Project Board.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance.
  • Prepare staff and students for changes due to the new system.
  • Ensure quality management processes and documentation are in place.
  • Report project progress to the Director of Strategy & Planning, the Director of Technology, and the Project Sponsor.
  • Manage the Project Coordinator's input.
  • Align the Project with UCEM's processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to UCEM's project management capability development

    Experienced in system implementation and change management projects.
  • Knowledgeable in Agile methodologies.
  • Capable of overseeing technical teams and suppliers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in leading projects, stakeholder engagement, and presenting strategic plans to senior leaders.
  • Able to create project documentation for various stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in remote work and managing project budgets.
  • Desirables:
  • Experience in higher education or public sector projects.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, SQL, and Tribal SITS application.
  • Project management qualification (Agile, PRINCE2, APM).
