Full Job Description

We're looking for a Land and Nature Project Manager to lead our bold Attingham Nature Recovery Project, on the Attingham Estate in Shropshire. We're now at a critical and exciting phase following several years of feasibility to inform land-use change. The Trust has recently approved a major project which will deliver £3.4million of investment in nature restoration over the next 10 years on the estate.
If you think this role may be right for you but want to explore the skills balance further, then please do contact
What it's like to work here
You'll be part of the Trust's internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors and project managers, you'll be working with others to help make things happen.
As this role covers the Attingham Estate your contractual location will be on the estate, but our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at National Trust places. We'll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40-60% of your working week.
The post is offered on a full-time basis for 24 months starting in January 2025.
What you'll be doing
You will plan and deliver Attingham's Nature Recovery aspirations for habitat creation and improvement, through the delivery of over 150 hectares of woodland creation, as well as wetland creations and river restorations, and natural flood management interventions.
You'll lead the multi-disciplinary project team of Property, Consultancy, Estates and Project support colleagues to work effectively to support tenant farmers to adapt to land use transition at Attingham.
Building a collaborative partnership with the Environment Agency you'll progress plans for nature-based solutions on the river in the estate and you'll strengthen existing and build further relationships with neighbouring landowners and landscape partners to influence and support action for nature in the wider Severn catchment and nurture future partnership opportunities.
You'll help secure funding needed to implement these changes, balancing a blend of public and private funding sources, to achieve high-quality nature outcomes.
