We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Manager to join our team on a permanent basis.Based from our Whiteley office (UK), the individual will provide direct support to the Programme Manager to successfully deliver a developmental programme to our customer NATS and our customers in Scotland Government. This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have SC clearance or be willing to undergo the clearance process. Ad-hoc travel may be required to various customer and Leidos sites. THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a series of software development projects in support of the wider IT Infrastructure and business applications services for NATS and Scottish Government. The Project Manager will report to the Programme Manager and will be responsible for leading a cross functional team to deliver against programme commitments. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Manage multiple small projects of varying timescales and value (£1k to £10m) in support of the overall programme delivery
- Develop robust plans in order to meet programme and customer commitments
- Track performance against plan, identify and execute plans to mitigate blockers
- Identify and manage Risks, Issues and Opportunities
- Effectively communicate status to programme leadership
- Manage key stakeholders to align expectations
- Mobilise, deliver and handover projects to BAU
Proven track record successfully managing multiple small projects/programmes - Good interpersonal skills and judgement for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders to develop strong working relations to support achieving objectives
- Ability to engage effectively within a multi-functional programme team comprising both customer, supplier and Leidos staff
- Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of business, finance and personnel management techniques
- The ability to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively at all levels
- Ability to motivate and develop staff
- Commitment to working collaboratively across Leidos and the customer.
- Some Adhoc Travel might be required to various customer and Leidos sites Desirable Experience:
- Air Traffic Management knowledge would be advantageous
- Experience of SOA/ITIL/Service Management methodologies
- Certified to APM, Prince 2 or Agile Prince 2
