Job Title: Project Manager Job Location: Portchester, UK Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours About this opportunity and L3Harris UK From 11 UK sites, our team of nearly 1,000 people delivers unique capabilities across space, air, land, sea and cyber for military, security and commercial customers across the UK and worldwide. L3Harris in Portchester are the maritime industry's autonomy partner of choice, we are powering the Royal Navy's adoption of autonomous surface vehicle technology as well as delivering autonomous capability to UK ports, harbours and offshore energy service providers. We have delivered more than 100 autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) systems. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring successful planning, execution and delivery of allocated projects within the L3Harris ASV site with full accountability for ensuring on-time and budget delivery to the required quality levels. Reporting to the Senior Leadership, the PM will provide the leadership and drive to a multi-functional project team accountable for meeting agreed customer requirements and project goals in line with the L3Harris business processes.   • What the role will involve The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
  • Effective execution and delivery of allocated projects; meeting and maximising performance against time, cost and quality criteria.
  • Planning, management and control of projects utilising L3Harris processes and systems together with recognised best practice project management techniques.
  • Creating a robust plan clearly detailing key activities, milestones and deliverables against customer requirements and contractual scope.
  • Maintaining this plan throughout the project and utilise as a tool to communicate as well as monitor/control progress.
  • Building strong customer relationships
  • Providing accurate, concise and timely project performance reporting information in support of the Project Review cycle.
  • Ensuring project resource and capability requirements are defined and deployed.
  • Effectively managing risks, issues and opportunities through robust processes and working with the appropriate stakeholders to assess, building risk mitigation measures into the project as required.
  • What you'll bring The role requires the following experience and skills:
  • Demonstrable experience in a Project Management
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully delivery
  • Formally accredited Project Management qualifications e.g. APM/Prince 2/PMI or equivalent and able to demonstrate effective application of tools and techniques in a real environment
  • Strong people management and communication skills demonstrable within a project delivery scenario
  • Able to apply, analyse and report against project measures and data
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and a technology/engineering appreciation (desirable)
  • Experience within the Defence and/or Marine domain (desirable)
  • Commercially astute with experience of developing/maintaining robust and pro-active customer relationships (desirable)
  • Experience in stakeholder and supplier management as well as project governance, risk and resource management (desirable)
