We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join the Western Performance team as a Project Manager. This role focuses on enhancing our performance delivery and leading our reporting to external stakeholders.
Over the past few years, the Western Route has transformed into a densely utilized, multi-modal railway. It now combines the high-frequency Elizabeth Line, long-distance GWR services, and critical freight flows to various locations across England and Wales.
As a Project Manager, you will oversee the development, delivery, and reporting of change projects within the Western Route performance team. You will work closely with route and national functions, train operators, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective communication of improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will seek out and implement best practices to enhance performance management within the wider team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the workings of a busy route amidst a significant performance change programme., 1. Agree remit and success criteria of change projects with the relevant Executive Sponsors and Functional Directors.
2. Manage the development and delivery of change projects in compliance with company processes and procedures.
3. Manage the production of project management plans for change projects.
4. Establish and manage collaborative cross-functional virtual teams to deliver change projects, where appropriate.
5. Deliver regular progress reports on change projects, including relevant risks and issues, to Executive Sponsors and Functional Directors.
6. Manage project budgets within agreed targets.
7. Promote and monitor the use of efficiency improvement methods., Diversity and inclusion are more than just buzz words for us. · Relevant experience in the successful management of major and complex change projects.
· Experience of applying project methodologies

· Educated to degree level
· Member of project association
· Commercial and financial awareness.
· Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.
· Knowledge of/experience in the UK rail industry.
