Project Manager Rail - Hire, Oxford

Monday to Friday 42 hours per week, 8am - 5pm

As a Rail Project Manager at Speedy Hire you will be at the forefront of our most critical rail projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will span across planning, execution, stakeholder management, and compliance, making you a key player in our continued growth and success.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines and ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.

  • Manage project budgets and ensure financial control and monitor and report on financial performance, ensuring projects are delivered within budget.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams and provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns or issues.

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies and monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure that all project work meets industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements and implement and oversee quality control processes.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards and promote a safety-first culture and oversee the implementation of safety plans.

  • Manage contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and other third parties to ensure contractual obligations are met and address any disputes or issues.

  • Monitor project progress against the plan and make necessary adjustments and prepare and deliver regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs and ensure that any changes are properly documented, approved, and communicated.

  • Ensure the project complies with environmental regulations and standards and implement sustainable practices and minimize the environmental impact of the project.

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and records and ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.

  • Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded and address and resolve any client issues promptly and effectively.


  • What you'll need:
  • Proven track record of managing multiple onsite projects simultaneously, from initiation to completion within the tool hire or construction or rail industry

  • Strong background in building and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and project alignment.

  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenditures, and ensuring financial targets are met.

  • Commercially astute and performance focused to ensure people strategy is inline to support company growth
