Full Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned and energetic project manager with background in product development, TMC, travel, hotel and air distribution, experienced in managing global multi-year projects.

You will work in close collaboration with a diverse group of product manages, developers, operations and support, travel counselors, client management. You are a leader that a team likes to follow. You are a master collaborator that removes barriers. You are an expert communicator that breaks down complex information into messages for diverse groups of stakeholders. You know the product development life cycle. You know travel technology, font end, mid and back office, PNRs, APIs and requirements are near and dear to your heart. You are the person that comes to mind when thinking of someone being organized and structured. You work well under pressure. You can't help but to analyze and improve your own work and processes. You believe as project manager you provide best in class service to our team of product managers.

This role reports to the Director Project Management and supports the team responsible for Amex GBT's proprietary content aggregation and distribution platform.

What you will do:

  • Manage one or multiple projects supporting product development and product launches.

  • Apply your PMP/PRINCE knowledge to create project plans, manage dependencies, risks, and issues, in line with standard project management best practice.

  • Partner with stakeholders to define project milestones and roadmaps.

  • Work with internal and external partners to ensure timely completion of all workstream tasks and ensure products and features are deployed with a do no harm approach to other products and processes.

  • Analyze project stakeholders and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Build strong rapport with stakeholders and partners, ensuring their engagement and buy-in.

  • Ensure timely communication of plans, risks, and escalations with business stakeholders throughout the project. Communicate relevant project updates, risk and issues in weekly reports to multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Represent the project in cross-functional steering committee meetings.

  • Coordinate & host project meetings and send meeting notes with clear action items and timelines. Follow up on action items.

  • Provide product knowledge and project management expertise when engaging with partner teams.

  • Identify and remove obstacles on all projects to ensure timely completion.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's project management tools and processes.

  • 5+ years travel industry experience, solid understanding data flows and tools in the travel industry ecosystem

  • Experience in travel management, travel operations or TMC experience.

  • Experience in product development / product operations / product deployment.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a complex, diverse, global, matrix and changing environment.

  • Current and completed PMP/Prince certification.

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in large global project management.

  • Experience working with senior stakeholders.

  • Ability to navigate the organization, collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and overcome project barriers.

  • Excellent time management, juggling tight deadlines with a focus on quality and details.

  • Fast learner with the ability to quickly adapt and prioritize focus.

  • Proven organizational skills, experience with agile, waterfall and hybrid project management methodologies.

  • Smartsheet certification, demonstrated advanced user skills, including setting up tools and processes in Smartsheet, is a plus.

  • Excellent process documentation / Visio skills.

  • Fluent in Jira / Confluence

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid follow through with minimal oversight.

  • Outstanding business & technical acumen.

  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills.

  • Outstanding consultative and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Fluent in English, second language a plus.
