  • Job Introduction 3 Year Position Lead the way in heritage-led regeneration during an exciting time for Bradford. This is a unique opportunity to champion Bradford's first Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) and play a key role in the city's cultural and historic renaissance. With a rich array of heritage assets and a proud legacy of heritage-led regeneration, Bradford is poised to shine as the UK's City of Culture 2025 and as a city home to two prestigious UNESCO designations-Creative City of Film and the Saltaire World Heritage Site. Historic England's HAZ initiative is designed to unleash the power of the historic environment-revitalising historic high streets, fostering economic growth, and improving quality of life. In this role, you'll lead Bradford's first HAZ, ensuring its heritage is preserved and celebrated for future generations. This is your chance to work with passionate communities, historic experts, and key stakeholders in regenerating Bradford's historic core. Why join us? Bradford is in the midst of an exciting cultural revival with transformative projects like:
  • The pedestrianisation of the city centre, creating vibrant public spaces
  • The restoration of iconic cultural assets such as Bradford Live
  • The £2 million Bradford City Centre Townscape Heritage Scheme, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund
  • Your role: As part of our Landscape, Design and Conservation Team, you'll:
  • Develop and implement the Bradford City Centre HAZ scheme, overseeing everything from the grant application process to cultural and engagement programmes.
  • Collaborate with Historic England, community groups, and local partners to ensure that heritage, culture, and community are at the heart of decision-making.
  • Drive projects forward, creating a lasting legacy for Bradford's first HAZ and inspiring heritage-led growth.
