Birmingham's Children and Families Directorate are recruiting a series of posts to the Education Infrastructure service. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills, knowledge, and experience to facilitate meaningful change for the children, young people, and families of Birmingham. We are looking for a bold and ambitious Project Officer to join our team. This large, diverse city is going through an exciting, yet challenging time of transformation and improvement. About the role: This is a key role within the Property Management Team and will require coordination of activities across the wider Education Infrastructure Service aligned to the Business Plan. You will support the Principal Officer to deliver a wide range of responsibilities. The key activities associated with the post will include:
- To develop and implement high quality processes to ensure consistency across the Property Management Team.
- To develop and implement appropriate governance arrangements across the Education portfolio in relation to licenses, leases, wayleaves, shared use agreements etc.
- To develop and maintain robust financial systems and databases to ensure accurate records are kept.
- Administering the compliance and maintenance of the Education property portfolios.
- Facilitating and implementing the relevant status changes of schools including School Organisation / Significant Change processes, Academy conversions, etc The role will also involve working within a multi-disciplinary environment which will include engaging with internal and external stakeholders, the Council's senior leadership, other Local Authorities, central government departments, Schools and Academies.

We will need you to be able to multi-task and work flexibly to cover gaps where necessary. Whilst we will help you to prioritise, we would want you to be able to work independently and problem solve confidently.
