Do you want to be part of a team that is integral to delivering innovative outcomes?, Lincolnshire County Council is looking to recruit a Project Officer to join us, to lead and support the delivery of exemplar services to facilitate growth and development in Lincolnshire. The Project Officer will focus on programme management, project delivery, specialist financial and procurement advice, contributing to operational, technical, performance to ensure a strong economic environment.
About the Role
You will be based within a small but busy Strategic Programme team within Economic Development. The Project Officer is integral to developing, influencing and delivering appropriate Project programmes for the County in direct support of the County Councils Corporate Plan objectives. The team provides a variety of functions including acting as accountable body for the Greater Lincolnshire LEP and working on programmes such as Made Smarter East Midlands and Skills Bootcamp.
Your workload will include
providing professional advice to private businesses, and other stakeholders.
collating and preparing information to help the team to take decisions, producing good quality reports that are clear and well presented.
monitoring the progress and quality of contracts, providing information and acting as appropriate.
managing the Strategic Programme teamwork of external consultants and contractors.
ensuring partners are delivering in accordance with contractual requirements and to ensure LCC/partners avoids compliance issues which could result in funding being clawed back.
Utilising IT skills to develop clear, concise reports
Hybrid working is a key benefit of this role, offering flexibility while maintaining team collaboration. The successful applicant will typically be expected to work in the office at least a once a week. Occasionally, additional office days may be required to support specific team needs or activities.
About The Team
We are a small but busy team who develop, influence and deliver successful projects and programmes from a range of funding sources. We support, monitor and provide technical advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that projects deliver the key objectives of the Council and external partners for the benefit of Greater Lincolnshire.
We act as the accountable body for Greater Lincolnshire LEP as well as co-ordinating the East Midlands Growth Hub Cluster encouraging knowledge sharing, collaboration and best practice. We are the key deliverer in the Made Smarter East Midlands programme (funded by the Department for Business and Trade), that provides specialist advice and Guidance to our important Manufacturing Sector.
We often work across teams and respond to adhoc projects or programmes that create opportunities within Lincolnshire.
You will need a proven track record in managing projects and programmes within an economic development environment and will have current working knowledge of financial control and /or Project management including aligned qualifications.eg AAT/APMP. The role is fast paced and diverse so the ability to be flexible in working style and to adapt to change is essential. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders., Disability Confident
