Full Job Description

Are you an experienced Planner on the lookout for a new challenge? Shared Services Connected Limited are currently recruiting for a Project Planning SME to come and join a bid team on a Fixed Term Contract basis for an initial 6 months. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work a large scale bid within the public sector which could result in a transformation project that will support 250,000 users. You will report directly into the Programme Director and will work alongside a high performance solutions team to understand the scope of the project before creating the key plan on what it will take to deliver it. Experience using Microsoft Project is a must in this role and relevant industry knowledge would be a substantial benefit. Ultimately, this role calls for an individual who has performed a similar position before and understands what it takes to produce an effective plan at this scale. This role is hybrid with travel to either our London or Hemel Hempstead office up to twice a week. What you'll be doing:

  • Work with the Transition & Transformation Programme Director and Programme Manager to plan the delivery of the Transition & Transformation Programme
  • Discuss and design the most efficient way to keep the Programme Definition Document and Project Portfolio aligned with the MSP plan to minimise any work involved in changes or re-thinks
  • Interact with other members of the sales team, in particular the solution owners, to understand the key activities required to deliver their solution components
  • Develop the plan in more detail post submission to be suitable for actual implementation management
  • What you'll bring:
  • Proficient in the use of MSP software
  • Advise on and set-up MSP parameters at the outset
  • Advise on and set-up structures for Programme, Tranches, Portfolios, Projects and Workstreams (this will be aligned with the Programme Definition Document and Project Portfolio)
  • Advise on and set-up reporting from MSP, mainly for collaborator engagement / information and governance gates (rather than actual delivery reporting)
  • Critical Path output and analysis
  • Set-up Dependencies (Gives & Gets), so that able to see the impact of a Dependency Delivery Date moving forward or backward
