Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated chartered structural engineer, to lead projects and join a growing team working in the UK healthcare sector.

In this role you will:

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership to deliver a range of project types within the healthcare sector

  • Support and facilitate business development opportunities through a wide range of clients; including healthcare providers, architects (and other collaborators) and contractors

  • Liaise with clients and external consultants to understand, develop and deliver the brief. Report and present to clients and/or contractors on progress

  • Collaborate with architects, building services engineers and other disciplines, either in a lead or contributory role

  • Identify and implement MMC techniques across projects to a high level, to enhance safety, quality and sustainability, and maintains confidence in procurement

  • Provide project delivery so that carbon emissions are assessed and provided to clients, also supporting internal carbon reduction programmes

  • Take responsibility for internal project management including budgeting, planning and programmes and monitoring progress

  • Undertake risk management on commissions, to identify - and positively manage - commercial and technical delivery risks

  • Assist others to develop new business and prepare bids in the health sector. Assist with negotiating and applying consultancy contracts, including terms and conditions and scope of service

  • Help to develop and mentor team members; providing training and support with industry best-practice healthcare design

  • A proven track record of designing building structures on a range of healthcare typologies

  • Knowledge / Experience in leading delivery of design projects across a range of building and client typologies within the healthcare sector; including design and build

  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary Civil & Structural teams to delivery of healthcare projects

  • Experience of negotiating contract terms and conditions, and applying them during the commission

  • Strong organisational, collaboration and communication skills
