Full Job Description

The role holder will be expected to act as a project manager on specific projects within these sub-workstreams, as demanded by the needs of the project portfolio at any given time. The role holder will also be expected to act as the Deputy Delivery Lead for the sub-function, providing oversight and governance over all in-flight initiatives ensuring that these are delivered in a robust and consistent way and adhering to the HSBC Change Framework. In addition to their core responsibilities, the role holder will also be required to support the Cost & Commercial Insights Director, Transformation / Delivery Leads and Product Owners in driving the team's internal evolution, creating reusable internal collateral and delivering change in a structured, high-quality manner akin to that of a professional management consultancy. In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for end-to-end project management and delivery of specific initiatives as assigned from the Cost & Commercial Insights Book of Work.
  • Act as Deputy Delivery Lead for the sub-function, ensuring robust governance, project management / change disciplines and project artefact production are best-in-class.
  • Influence and manage global/regional stakeholders and senior sponsor relationships in delivering both the project manager and Delivery Lead aspects of the role. These include both business process/systems change and/or new systems implementation for Finance.
  • Deliver the associated projects in adherence to the HSBC Change Framework - primarily following Agile delivery principles, but also a tailored or Waterfall approach where required.
  • Work as part of an Agile Delivery Team consisting of business analysts, project leads, developers, technical design leads and IT product managers - all reporting into a Programme Manager (s) with oversight of the initiatives.

    Proven track record of successful project delivery with quantifiable business benefits within the Finance business domain, with specific experience of Financial Reporting, MI (management information) and / or complex programmes.
  • SME experience of Project delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and other tailored implementation approaches - with industry standard qualifications (preferred).
  • Excellent problem solving skills including issue identification, hypothesis development, problem structuring and analysis.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple deliverables with, at times, conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to facilitate stakeholders through decisions, consult effectively with them, influence them and with excellent conflict management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with proven experience of communicating effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group in a complex global environment.
