Full Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting individuals and making public services more inclusive and user-friendly?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our Customer Services Team to support and work with Easy Read Information Writers with a learning disability and or autism, to develop easy read information and to write and maintain content. You will provide clerical and administrative support under the management and guidance of senior staff., You will undertake and support with administrative duties in regard to Easy Read documents and will need to have

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills to NVQ 2 level or equivalent

  • A knowledge or awareness of Easy Read information.

  • At least one years' experience of working alongside adults with a learning disability and or autism either as a family carer, through voluntary work or paid employment.

  • Experience of providing business support in a busy environment.

  • Experience of organising and prioritising work using a work plan.


  • You will also need to be skilled in using a range of IT software including MS Word, Excel, and MS Teams; training will be given on specialist systems that are used within the service. The role will require accurate information inputting and supporting with creating Easy Read documents. In return you will be supported through supervision both formally and informally, have access to extensive training opportunities.

    The work pattern will be 18.5 hours per week and can be used flexibly with a requirement to be at the Customer Service Centre on Thursdays between 10am and 2.30pm.
