Full Job Description
The British Library is looking for two Project Support Officers to join the Conservation for Digitisation Team. In this role, you will enable digitisation of collection items and tracts as part of various digitisation projects to make content available Online. You will support digitisation conservators and liaise with members of different projects, internal and commercial partners, such as Adam Matthew Digital and Gale Cengage, to ensure the provision of access to the collections.
Successful candidates will:
- Retrieve, deliver and replace collection items for the digitisation conservator, and other users as needed.
- Create batches of items, record information and monitor workflow.
- Support the digitisation conservator in assessing material to enable conservation and preservation checks and digitisation.
- Ensure items retrieved from storage and assessed, or sent to Digitisation studio/Collection Care etc. are recorded appropriately for security and tracking purposes.
- Measure of and boxing of items requiring preservation.
- Support projects workflows.
