Full Job Description

This role will work as a key member of the Global Real Estate International Design & Construction team and will be responsible for design & architectural work and construction standards across WBD's International office portfolio. Additionally, the role will work in close partnership with the US team architects/designers, to ensure consistency in strategy, design & execution, both globally and internationally. This role will manage multiple capital projects simultaneously driving and tracking schedules and adjusting timelines to business requirements as needed. The role requires the ability to comprehend, analyses and interpret complex business documents to respond effectively to sensitive issues. The role is the point of contact for executive stakeholders that requires high level if analytical and quantitative skills along with the ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, executive management, and local government business groups. This role will be a key trusted partner for Technical Facilities, Workplace Strategy and Technology & Organisations. Communication, collaboration and a 'can do' attitude is a key component for this role and strong interpersonal skills is highly desired. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of managing multiple project teams, i.e architects, consultants, projects managers, etc. in delivering corporate offices alongside executive stakeholder relationship management. Strong programme and stakeholder management skills are required with a demonstrated successful background in managing multiple project teams for the delivery of corporate workplaces. The successful candidate will be effective at providing effective solutions and decisions in a fast-paced environment. This role reports into the Director - Head of Design & Construction International and is based in London. Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Participates in strategic planning sessions; establishes architectural requirements coordinated with electrical / mechanical infrastructures in support of facility design and construction efforts.
  • Manages assigned local and regional construction projects from initial customer contact through to occupancy in a manner than ensures customer satisfaction and accurate and timely completion of projects - involves supervising contractors and vendors activities (architects, engineers, furniture vendors, etc.) and those of other Facilities team members to ensure coordinated and seamless service delivery. Ensures adherence to established frameworks at the onset of all facilities projects that set time frames, budgets and approvals needed for all team members involved.
  • Provides leadership, direction and consultation to department, other WBD groups and divisions, and multiple cross-functional project teams of internal and external resources (architects, engineers, project managers, consultants, attorneys, contractors, sales representatives, distributors, equipment manufacturers, vendors, etc.) to achieve company goals.
  • Interacts, collaborates, and consults with executive and senior management from multiple functional groups, departments, divisions and offices on a daily basis for strategic initiatives and decisions and major projects and operational issues.
  • Ensures continuity of supply and managing supply chain risk in co-operation with the procurement function. Coordinates all quotations and purchase order requirements and raises orders as required. Follows-though all POs, invoices and credits as required. Addresses statutory compliance obligations in particular and close collaboration with Health & Safety obligations to minimize the risk of failure.
  • Provides overall direction for the Facilities design & implementation teams across international. This includes effectively evaluating multiple customer requests within the context of business objectives and maximizing the utilization of resources; scoping projects and estimating resources needed to achieve project objectives; developing and monitoring project schedules to ensure the timely completion of projects; developing department technical, analytical, and professional resources.
  • Oversees individual contributors from time to time, providing goals, guidance, and feedback.
  • Screens projects based on cost/benefit criteria, develops implementation strategies, and provides accountability for completing projects on time and within budget.
  • Participates in the development of annual capital and expense budgets, as well as monthly reforecasting.
  • Reviews and prepares project plans, budgets, schedules, and performance measures including financial statements and progress reports to ensure both departmental and overall project efficiencies.
  • Develops Communication Plans for special project rollouts, outages, and major initiatives.
  • Reviews and approves Construction Documents (CD's), specifications, Statements of Work (SOW's), Requests for Proposals (RFP's), Purchase Requisitions, bids, and invoices to ensure the implementation of best technical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provides technical presentations as required.
  • Negotiates contract pricing, terms, and conditions; manages vendor technical, cost and schedule performance; and reviews vendor deliverables for quality and compliance.
  • Establishes and oversees the application of standard practices, processes, procedures, and conventions to ensure the highest levels of quality, integrity, and interoperability among diverse facilities.

    Advanced AutoCAD skills required - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and MCR designation a plus.
  • B.S. in Architecture; or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Architectural Registration (RA) & Experience with technical facility builds is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of detailed design and full lifecycle project management experience applicable to the design and construction of commercial office space. Minimum of 5 years management or project management responsibility.
  • Ideal candidate will have strong practical and theoretical knowledge of: architectural design, mechanical / electrical / plumbing (MEP) coordination and construction management.
  • Experience establishing and implementing effective business processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to travel to locations across the International portfolio.
  • Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager.
