Full Job Description

Are you ready to help shape the future of North Somerset's estate? Our newly formed Projects and Property Team is looking for a Valuer to play a key role in delivering the Council's Strategic Asset Management Plan. This is your chance to support the transformation and sustainable development of the Council's estate, driving forward our vision for an open, fairer, and greener North Somerset., As a Valuer, you will be instrumental in managing and valuing the Council's diverse portfolio, including commercial, agricultural, and housing estates. You will support the implementation of the Strategic Asset Management Plan, contributing to the rationalisation and investment strategies that underpin the Council's transformation agenda. Your work will help ensure that our assets are managed effectively, aligned with our corporate goals of sustainability and low carbon growth.

You'll be collaborating with contractors, colleagues, and partners across North Somerset to deliver tangible results that meet the Council's ambitious targets.

This position is currently based at our Castlewood offices in Clevedon although there is also the opportunity for home working.

Please be advised that this office will be closed by 2025. Consultation is currently underway to determine the new location for colleagues based in Castlewood; This will be at Weston-super-Mare or within North Somerset.

We're looking for a dynamic team player who is passionate about innovation and putting customers first. You should have experience in property and asset management, including council accommodation, acquisitions, disposals, landlord-tenant relations, and capital projects., Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with significant post-qualification experience.
Registered Valuer.
Degree/Diploma in a property-related discipline (RICS accredited).
Experience in public or private sector valuation and property management.
Familiarity with relevant property-related statutes and professional standards.
Experience in negotiating s106 agreements and preparing schedules of condition and dilapidation claims., Disability Confident
