Full Job Description

The Estée Lauder Companies is currently recruiting for a Projects Technician (Intern) within the Projects department on a 13 month placement opportunity to join an experienced and committed team at Whitman Laboratories whereas a site we manufacture around a fifth of Estée Lauder's global sales output. The Projects Intern will be given the opportunity to be responsible for providing project management, expertise and technical support of Plant / Facility-related Capital projects. Working with the other Project Engineers, you will follow individual projects from conception to completion including all financial, quality and timeline controls of the project. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Setting priorities and reassessing in response to project changing needs.
  • Liaise with machine suppliers, Assembly management and Planning departments on the design, installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Support the projects team during the successful implementation / introduction of any new equipment into production. With a key focus on ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to during installation / commissioning works.
  • Work independently on individual projects and part of the Project team on group projects.
  • Contribute to the process of selecting and ordering all new major production/process equipment to ensure continuity of standards and that all practical "installation" implications are considered.
  • Provide input for Proposed Projects, identifying and evaluating project cost, impact on the organisation, layout options, possible savings after implementation and any legal requirements which must be adhered to.
  • Plan, negotiate and implement schedules of work for all major projects with the effected internal departments and external contractors.
  • Prepare Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Insurance Documentation.

    Characteristics of a successful candidate: Studying an Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or related subject and be on track to achieving a 2:1 standard or higher. (A Chemical, industrial or mechanical engineering degree is preferred).
