Full Job Description

The Property Team are currently supporting the Council with a range of exciting and high-profile projects as well as day-to-day estate management work. You will handle an interesting and varied workload and provide advice on a number of high-profile matters as a legal advisor to the Council.

As part of a supportive and valued Legal team, you will be exposed to a diverse and interesting workload and have the opportunity to be involved in complex land transactions together with other general areas of law depending on experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their role as a property lawyer in a diverse and sizeable multi-disciplinary Legal department in a public sector in-house environment.

You will:

  • Be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with hands-on real estate experience with at least 3+ years' PQE.

  • Engage in a broad spectrum of work across a variety of sectors, including acquisitions and disposals alongside all aspects of asset management. Experience of local authority constitutional law would be desirable.

  • Build and sustain excellent collaborative working relationships with client departments, colleagues, Members, partners and other stakeholders.

  • Enjoy working as part of a dynamic, commercial and pragmatic team and have the ability to work flexibly across the team.

  • Actively contribute towards the team's precedents and internal know-how.
