Prototype Build Engineer

Prototype Build Operations is responsible for delivering Prototype Properties within JLR to our Engineering customers. Working as part of the wider Prototype Operations team, you will be part of the timely delivery of our Prototype Builds. The role will cover many aspects of build delivery, working as part of a highly motivated team to ensure a flawless approach.

The role will be liaising with many functions across the business, with excellent exposure to other areas for personal growth and development. You'll have responsibility for helping maintain each project on the required timings to deliver a clean and successful build event, engaging with and raising issues where appropriate.

You'll be determined to achieve deadlines and be proactive in anticipating and preventing any build stopping issues, ensuring the build assembly team have everything required to build & deliver properties of the future of JLR.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Work with the Vehicle Engineering and Test & Development teams to ensure we deliver fit for purpose properties to our customers


• Ensure that delivery and customer targets are met, and the appropriate communications are in place to ensure our customers are always well informed


• Supporting issue management topics via eCCAR and JIRA, and both support and chair build progress events, internally and externally to the department


• Support BOM validation and overcheck activities, maintaining the BOM as required


• Support daily and weekly build targets to support business priorities
  
  Strong & methodical problem solver with understanding of issue management techniques & processes


• Have knowledge of whole vehicle systems and PHEV and BEV propulsion systems


• Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and proactive, demonstrating your ability to work with minimum supervision and use your own initiative


• Excellent communication and presentation skills


• Flexibility and willingness to work at other Jaguar Land Rover sites as required
