Full Job Description

In consultation with the Ward Sister agree the standards of care to be achieved within their area of control.

Ensure that an acceptable standard of care is maintained for patients in his / her charge.

To manage and participate as appropriate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care programmes for patients in his / her charge.

In the absence of the Ward Sister to manage, deploy and supervise staff allocated to his / her area and to ensure that all nursing staff are aware of the extent of their remit in planning, prescribing and evaluating nursing care.

When deploying nursing staff and allocating clinical teams to specific patients or group of patients ensure that the competencies within that team are appropriate to the care required by the patient.

To ensure that the care given is achieved in the most effective and efficient manner commensurate with sensitivity to patient needs.

In consultation with the Ward Sister / Lead Nurse / Assistant Lead Nurse identify when acceptable standards of care cannot be achieved due to a shortfall in expertise, manpower or resources and to consult with the Ward Sister / Assistant Lead Nurse and / Lead Nurse regarding the resulting implication.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated nurse to join our Emergency Nursing team at band . You will be part of a friendly and enthusiastic team providing the highest standards of care to our patients., The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and / or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
