Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team at HMP Lindholme a Category C/D men's prison located near Hatfield Woodhouse, Doncaster. The site houses around 1000 male patients, and as the sole Psychiatrist for the site you would see on average 6-8 patients per day. Within this role you would be working closely with the full multidiaplinary team, including GP's and Psychologist. Suitable applicants will have a good working knowledge of the NICE safer prescribing guidance. Hours This role is 3 days week 8am-4pm, applicants must be able to work Mondays and Tuesdays as well as one additional day between Wednesday-Friday There may be an opportunity within the role to complete some of the administration work remotely, As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
  • Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
  • Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.

    Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
  • Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
  • Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
  • Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
