Full Job Description
Carries own caseload, providing specialist psychological therapy in own field to clients within the team and where necessary, across the locality. Clients present with an eating disorder or eating difficulties but may also have a broad range of presentations including a significant proportion of complex cases.
Provides specialist psychological assessment of clients with an eating disorder and other mental health conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources to establish suitability for a particular psychological therapy and recommending alternative treatment or interventions as appropriate.
Responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of client harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client. Responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding the safeguarding of others who may be at risk.
Undertakes risk assessment and risk management for individual clients.
Formulates plans for specialist psychological therapy in own field based on an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based practice.
Collaborates on the development and the implementation of such plans with clients and significant others as appropriate Implements specialist psychological therapy in own field for individual clients,carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as required.
