The Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS, Forward Thinking Birmingham) is seeking to recruit a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist as part of its commitment to continue to provide an outstanding model of care & treatment for the young people (aged 0-25) and families of Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic therapist who is committed to working with young people and young adults with Eating Disorders including ARFID.

SEDS are an established, ambitious community eating disorders mental health team. We have strong links with the University of Birmingham, University of Warwick and Kings College London (SLaM). We also work closely with leading charities such as BEAT and First Steps ED and The Feeding Trust in order to co-produce and contribute to ongoing initiatives designed to improve access and enhance ED care and treatment. We are also proud of our commitment to early intervention and our membership of the FREED network., The post holder will provide specialist CBT interventions and contribute to the assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence-based psychological treatments for young people with eating disorders. As part of an MDT approach the post holder will work collaboratively to develop a formulation-driven understanding of presenting difficulties and needs.

Whilst prior experience of working with eating disorders is beneficial, we would be keen to hear from those with transferable CBT skills and knowledge, as within this role there is scope and opportunity to develop. You will receive support, guidance and opportunities for learning and development from within SEDS as well as the wider FTB, Psychological Therapy community/team. FTB, have a vibrant community of psychological therapists across the organisation and you will be warmly welcomed by colleagues from all psychological therapist groups.
