Full Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated CBT Therapist or Clinical/Counselling Psychologist? Are you looking to progress and develop your clinical and leadership skills within an important new area of service transformation? If so, why not join us to be part of the transformation of community mental health services, working closely alongside other Psychological Therapists and advanced mental health practitioners as part of our Mental Health Integrated Community Teams, and in close partnership with the Voluntary Sector. You will be involved in the delivery and planning of a variety of online and/or in-person psychoeducational and therapy groups for significant mental health difficulties, including leading on the facilitation and the delivery of a Managing Emotions Group programme alongside a Voluntary Sector partner. You will have opportunities to contribute to the wider psychological therapies provision depending on your interests, including within the Community Mental Health Psychological Therapies services, as well as providing supervisory input to junior psychological staff. You will be well supported and supervised by a Psychologist, and will work within a dynamic, people-centred environment, where you will be able to shape and improve provision for patients with complex conditions. Your base for this role can be in Reading or Wokingham, although a significant proportion of the service delivery will be onlineMain duties of the job

  • To work as part of a team to support and enhance the psychological care of adults with significant mental health issues in primary care.
  • To support and lead on the delivery of a group Managing Emotions Programme and other group programmes for people with emotional regulation difficulties and SMI across Berkshire, together with holding a caseload of clients requiring individual CBT for SMI.
  • To liaise and work closely in partnership with a Voluntary sector provider in jointly delivering and facilitating the group programme
  • To participate in the implementation and development of system-wide mental health services that will contribute to improved experience for people with serious mental health problems in primary care.
  • To provide, supervise and support specialist psychological assessment and treatment, formulation and consultation to clients and staff within the clinical team and system to which the post-holder is attached, across all sectors of care.
