Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners via apprenticeship route to join the NHS Talking Therapies Service (IAPT) delivered jointly by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) and Coventry and Warwickshire Mind. The successful candidates will be joining a well-established service that continues to offer high quality; evidence based psychological interventions for our identified populations. The posts are for the Coventry, Rugby, North Warwickshire, South Warwickshire & Solihull.

The PWP training programme is a 12-month course. The programme combines clinical competency development with academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust and Coventry University. Successful applicants will need to commit to the academic and competency development requirements of the course.

IMPORTANT: Candidates will need to send as part of their application :

In 500 words, summarise some of the actions that psychological services can take to remove barriers to accessing support for individuals from culturally diverse communities

Your submission will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

Knowledge and understanding of key issues (10 marks)

Presentation and ability to convey ideas coherently (10 marks)

Spelling, grammar and punctuation (5 marks), As a Trainee PWP, you will be a full time Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust employee within the NHS Talking Therapies service, whilst attending the PWP Training programme. You will be attending university for 2 days a week and at placement(base) 3 days a week.

On successful completion of the programme, trainees will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within a Talking Therapies service and will progress from a Band 4 Trainee PWP contract to a permanent Band 5 Qualified PWP contract. As the Trust is funding your training, you are expected to work as a Qualified PWP for the service for at least 2 years.
