Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds - an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent., The PTP Manager will manage the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (PTP) operations for the EMEA region within a shared service centre based in London. This role is responsible for driving efficiency, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments, managing a high-performing team, and ensuring that PTP processes are aligned with the company's financial and operational goals. The role also focuses on optimising processes, compliance, and improving vendor relations across the region, all while managing the unique requirements of the music industry., 1. PTP Operations Management:
  • Oversee the entire PTP process for the EMEA region, from invoice receipt, verification, and approvals to payments and supplier reconciliations.
  • Ensure efficient handling of artist, vendor, and supplier payments , ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Manage the purchase order (PO) and non-PO invoicing processes, ensuring accurate coding, approval, and payment of invoices.
  • Coordinate and manage payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Address escalations and resolve issues related to invoices , payment disputes , and supplier queries , particularly with complex artist contracts and royalties.
  • Problem-Solving : Act as the primary escalation point for issues related to PTP, such as vendor disputes, payment errors, or process bottlenecks. Work with internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Root Cause Analysis : Identify the root causes of recurring issues within the PTP process and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • 2. Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead a customer centric PTP team within the shared service centre, ensuring a high level of performance and engagement.
  • Develop and train the PTP team, focusing on increasing efficiency and delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Set clear performance objectives, monitor team progress, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to invoice processing times, payment accuracy, and vendor satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability within the PTP function.
  • 3. Process Improvement & Optimization:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the PTP workflow, particularly around automation, invoice processing, and payment approvals.
  • Leverage technology and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to drive efficiency and optimise the PTP process.
  • Implement best practices, including e-invoicing , vendor portals , and touchless processing , to reduce manual interventions.
  • Collaborate with procurement and other departments to enhance end-to-end procure-to-pay integration and efficiency.
  • 4. Vendor Relations & Stakeholder Management:
  • Build strong relationships with artists , vendors , and suppliers , ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of any payment-related issues.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for vendor & affiliate escalations, ensuring timely responses to queries and concerns.
  • Work closely with procurement, finance, and other departments to ensure that PTP processes support broader business and operational objectives.
  • Manage relationships & communication with internal stakeholders & affiliates to ensure we are delivering a first class service
  • 5. Cash Flow and Working Capital Management
  • Payment Timing : Optimise payment cycles to manage cash flow effectively, balancing the needs of working capital management with maintaining good vendor relationships.
  • Discounts and Terms : Work with the Procurement and Finance teams to negotiate favourable payment terms, discounts, and early payment opportunities with suppliers.
  • 6. Compliance & Internal Controls:
  • Ensure all PTP activities comply with corporate policies , contractual obligations , and regulatory requirements (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, royalty payments).
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls to ensure accurate and timely payments, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with audit and tax requirements.
  • Collaborate with the finance and compliance teams to maintain accurate records, ensuring proper documentation of all transactions for audit purposes.
  • 7. Reporting & Data Analysis:
  • Generate and analyse reports related to PTP performance , including invoice cycle times, payment accuracy, vendor ageing, and working capital metrics.
  • Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership on opportunities for cost savings, process efficiencies, and vendor performance improvement.
  • Implement real-time reporting and dashboards to ensure PTP team performance is closely monitored and issues are addressed proactively..

    Leadership and Management : Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a team, with the ability to delegate tasks and manage performance effectively.
  • Process Improvement : Expertise in identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
  • Financial Acumen : Solid understanding of accounting principles, procurement processes, and working capital management.
  • Vendor Management : Experience in managing vendor relationships, negotiating terms, and resolving disputes.
  • Technology Proficiency : Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and other financial tools to manage and optimise the PTP process. SAP S4 Hana experience is a plus
  • Communication Skills : Excellent communication skills to work effectively with internal teams, vendors, and senior management. Ability to present data and findings clearly.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Compliance Awareness : Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal control requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Qualifications & Skills: Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in PTP or Accounts Payable management, ideally within a shared services or multinational environment.
  • Experience in the music, entertainment, or media industry is a strong advantage, particularly with artist or royalty payments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing PTP teams, driving process improvements, and managing complex vendor relationships.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with PTP automation, e-invoicing, and vendor management tools.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and tax compliance within the EMEA region.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse regions and departments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in shared service centres or large multinational organisations.
  • Strong understanding of global procurement and supplier management processes.
  • Familiarity with e-invoicing solutions and supplier portals is a plus.
  • SAP S4 Hana implementation experience
