Full Job Description

Team leaders act as role models to others by promoting and ensuring a strong health and safety culture in the workplace. Problem solving in a high-pressured frontline service environment are all part of a Team Leaders day to day, whilst also looking at new ways to improve service delivery., The Public and Green Space Team Leader Team work together to directly supervise, support and develop service delivery over both our Parks and Street cleansing teams.

Team Leaders lead our maintenance teams to work alongside our communities and Councillors to provide a safe, clean and pleasant environment for residents and visitors alike.

Exeter City Councils Public and Green Space department are looking for applicants that can lead, guide, support and motivate our grounds maintenance Teams. Working as a Team Leader within our Public and Green Space department, the successful candidate will be tasked with supervising the day to day running of grounds maintenance and Street Cleansing teams to help keep Exeter safe and looking good.

Experience in Grounds maintenance or Street cleansing is essential, as is experience in the implementation and maintenance of safe systems of work.

Applicants must hold a full valid UK driver licence, Ideal candidates will have at least 5 GCSE's at grades A-C or equivalent, a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and requirements, and experience in street cleansing, horticultural or grounds maintenance services.

A full UK drivers' licence is a requirement of the role, and applicants should be prepared to work outside of normal hours when needed.

Skills and abilities include, but are not limited to, the use of office based tools such as word and excel, report writing, critical thinking/analysis and delivery, development and implementation of service processes.
