Full Job Description

Do you enjoy working alongside colleagues and external contributors to accurately complete key administrative tasks in a busy and varied environment? Can you identify opportunities to improve and implement organisational processes that help improve efficiencies whilst maintaining customer care? The Public Programmes, Interpretation and Digital Content Assistant will provide administrative, practical and financial support for two fast-paced and creative teams within the Ashmolean Audiences & Content Directorate. The Informal Learning & Public Programmes (IL&PP) team is responsible for the development of programmes for families, young people and adults in the Museum, online and in the wider community. The Interpretation & Digital Content (I&DC) team develops and delivers innovative and compelling digital content and interpretation through an audience-centred approach. This is a permanent, full time position, working 36.5 hours per week. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility will be required in covering weekend and evening activities as required to support the teams. This role involves some lifting and carrying - all necessary health and safety training will be provided. This position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check result.

You will be key in providing an effective and efficient administrative service, acting as a first point of contact, interpreting strategic guidelines, handling enquiries, raise purchase order requests and support the practical set up for events. You will need to have experience of managing administrative processes, experience of working with the public and external contributors. You will also have experience of working as part of a team, as well as experience of using your initiative and working independently to solve problems.
