Full Job Description

The London accounts team currently comprises of 40 employees and is headed up by Simon Griffith, the Director of Accounts, who reports into Hamedeh Ghobadian, Chief Financial Officer. The team is made up of several discrete sections: management accounts; purchase ledger; partners' personal accounting; pricing and commercial; credit control; cashiering and billing.,

  • Posting of supplier invoices and checking that the invoices have been correctly coded to the general ledger. Liaising with invoice approvers where necessary.

  • of disbursement costs to matters including Counsel fee notes.

  • Weekly authorisation and payment of staff expenses through Concur our online expenses system.

  • Processing ad hoc payment requests on a daily basis and weekly supplier payment runs via BACS.

  • Reconciliation of supplier account statements and Counsel fee notes.

  • Dealing with staff and supplier queries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Review and maintenance of account payable ledger balances.

  • Assisting accounts payable manager in a senior capacity to provide leadership and training as required.

  • Taking ownership of certain account payable tasks/ projects seeing them through to completion.

  • Ad hoc duties as required.


  • Most of our roles are hybrid, meaning that colleagues benefit from working in our office and remotely. We are happy to discuss this and other flexible working arrangements with you as part of the application and interview process.

  • Aderant or Elite knowledge would be advantageous but not essential

  • Previous legal finance experience necessary

  • Previous senior/ supervisory position would be beneficial

  • Excel knowledge would be useful

  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload

  • Good attention to detail

  • Well organised, team player with a flexible and willing attitude

  • Good interpersonal skills
