Full Job Description

An Accountant to undertake general accounting duties, including assisting in management and statutory reporting, to ensure financial administration runs smoothly at the Village. Working to and in support of the Chief Accountant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the efficiency of the Village Account's office, keeping the team informed by:
· Managing inter-company charging and reconciliations including corporate loans.
· Posting journals.
· Checking and assisting in the production of payment runs.
· Liaising with budget holders on cost and coding issues.
· Performing a monthly reconciliation of all other control accounts.
· Performing ongoing reviews of the Insight purchase order system.
· Overseeing the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger and assisting in query, account and coding resolution, and peak period processing support.
· Checking and signing-off end of month BACS runs and ad-hoc payments.
· Overseeing VAT returns.
· Checking and certifying month-end petty cash.
· Taking responsibility for reconciliation of payments and receipts for the Village Gift Card scheme.
· Producing the weekly cash-flow schedule.
· Preparing and assisting in management inquiries (sales related and royalty calculations).
· Following up with late debtors and preparing weekly late debtor status reports.
· Reviewing and adjusting payroll items upon receipt of the payroll company.
· Providing research for the Village Team on items such as yield and company brands.
· Producing monthly cost variance reports.
· Assisting in the production of quarterly reports.
· Assisting in the production of statutory accounts.
· Participating in Finance Department meetings.

· To be a qualified accountant, passed finalist or similar level of experience.
· Experience in liaising or assisting auditors.
· Organised, proactive and enthusiastic.
· Computer literate with intermediate or advanced Word and Excel skills.
· Ability to work to deadlines.
· Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· A proactive work ethic.
· Fluent in English and local Village language, any other European languages beneficial
