Purchasing / Finance Assistant - Oak Uxbridge What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing / Finance Assistant to join the team at Galliford Try within our Oak Business. Ideally, you will based in or around the Uxbridge area.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial information reported in Ledgers and Management Accounts in accordance with the Finance timetable.
- Undertake various finance-related tasks which may include:
- Helping with purchase orders.
- Creating projects in the system.
- Ownership of the timesheet reports and cost distribution to projects
- Assisting in the completion of the month end reporting
- Ensuring sales invoices from client certificates are raised accurately.
- Monitoring the sales ledger for prompt updating of receipts for two business.
- Credit control to ensure timely collection of monies owed. (liaising with internal QS for confirmed payment dates)
- Managing intercompany transactions.
- Preparing and posting Oracle journals.
- Providing support to more senior members when required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Very good organisation skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data.
- A customer focused approach.
- Proactive and willing to learn.
- Willingness to get involved in key initiatives.
- Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.
- Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values - Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration.
- The ability to understand finance and purchasing in relation to the Construction Industry.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
- Previous experience of Oracle would be beneficial.
- Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages. You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.
